Pernes-les-Fontaines

This marvellous village has kept its bubbling charm intact. In fact, the village is famous for its 40 fountains that brighten up the squares and characterise the ancient walls, towers and medieval gates.

After discovering the source of Fonte de Beauvery, the mayor had monumental fountains built in the 18th century, which are even more impressive today thanks to their thick mantle of green moss. Among the most beautiful are Fontaine du Cormoran, Fontaine Reboul and Fontaine du Gigot.
