Castellane

The town has a subtle charm that can be discovered by wandering around the narrow alleyways of its medieval centre and browsing curiously through the many Provençal produce markets that take place in the main square.

Like the many villages in the area, Castellane has a church, the Chapelle Notre-Dame du Roc, perched on a spur of the mountain and seemingly on the verge of falling at any moment, welcoming visitors arriving from the cluastrophobic Verdon gorges.

In addition, there are plenty of facilities in town that organise water sports and activities in the Verdon.
