Roquebrune-Cap-Martin

Before it became French in 1848, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin was a free town after the revolt against Grimaldi rule.

The town is perched on a pudding-shaped hilltop and is recognisable by the presence of the beautiful feudal castle. Don’t miss rue Moncollet, characterised by its arcades and steps carved into the rock.

We recommend you go early in the morning, before the hordes of busloads of tourists arrive.
