Linking Nice and Menton are three parallel roads, at three different heights, that run along the mountainside. These are three routes of absolute beauty, passing through picturesque villages, offering breathtaking views and just ideal for those who love winding, adventurous roads.
The N98 road runs close to the railway and along the coast between villas and villages overlooking the sea. Among these not to be missed are Villefranche-sur-Mer, Cap Ferrat and Cap d’Ail, and the two dazzling villas Ephrussi de Rothschild and Grecque Kérylos.
This scenic road clinging to the mountainside and carved into the rock offers wonderful views of the sea, although it is difficult to find good spots to stop for a souvenir photo. In addition to the route itself, this route is worthwhile for the village of Èze.
This road is the most breathtaking and scenic of the three, to the point that Alfred Hitchcock chose it as the location for the film Catch a Thief, starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly, who lost her life in a car accident on these very curves. Don’t miss the villages of La Turbie and Roquebrune.
