Climate in Paris: best time to visit, weather by month, temperature

Due to its proximity to the sea, Paris is characterised by an extremely variable climate, a cross between oceanic and continental.

Winter in Paris

Those who have chosen Paris in the winter months have had to face a biting cold and that annoying humidity that penetrates the bones. Indeed, winter in the French capital is cold and rainy with temperatures often dropping below zero.

There are very few hours of daylight available to visit the city and when darkness falls, temperatures drop a lot, making it difficult to enjoy evening strolls.

On the other hand, the atmosphere in the colder months is particularly atmospheric, especially around Christmas time, when the city is resplendent with illuminations and decorated shop windows.

Spring and summer in Paris

Spring in Paris is particularly rainy and cool. Only from May onwards do temperatures start to rise and the weather begins to stabilise.

On the other hand, summer offers warm days with many hours of daylight: in July you can enjoy wonderful evenings with light until 10pm!

From June to September you will find the best temperatures that make for pleasant evening walks and outdoor dining.

Autumn in Paris

September and October are the best months to visit the capital in autumn, as temperatures drop significantly from November onwards.

We particularly recommend October for planning a trip during this season: beautiful days with still warm sunshine illuminate the autumnal colours along the boulevards.
