Barcaggio

When you reach this small village, following the spectacular and winding D253, you will feel as if you have arrived at the end of the world.

Located on the extreme tip of Cap Corse, Barcaggio has before it only the infinite beauty of the Mediterranean. It will enchant you above all with its beautiful, picturesque beaches, with clear, shallow water, very suitable for families.

Barcaggio beach is a sheltered cove of white sand, solitary and wild. With its view of the Finocchiarola Islands reserve, this magnificent sandy shore is perfect for relaxing after walking a stretch of the famous Customs Officers’ Trail.

What makes this beach truly unique are its dunes, among the highest in Corsica, which are hard to find on the island. Largely classified as a nature reserve, this fine sandy beach is very popular with families since it is within walking distance to the sea, faces north and has a superb view of the island of Giraglia, formerly inhabited by sailors.

At the beach of Cala Genovese, on the other hand, cows often graze undisturbed. The romantic dunes that surround it make the beach absolutely delightful.
